CELEBRATING THE HORSE
A two day workshop with sculptor Alex Hromych and painter Pat Wall.
Students are invited to participate in an integrated art workshop to interpret and study the horse in both 3D and 2D. Students will have the privilege of receiving instruction and critiques from two instructors. Alex Hromych, a PAFA faculty member, will assist with any technical issues on scupture, & Pat Wall, an artist known for her equine paintings and drawings, will offer critiques. Demonstrations will be provided by both artists. Two horses will be on site to serve as models and inspiration.
This will be a unique opportunity to work from the live model while exploring the creative
benefits in several mediums. Students can work in wax, terracotta, charcoal, watercolor, oils, or other 2D media of choice. Approaches throughout the two days will be determined by the students, whether it be finished works, anatomical studies, digital recording, abstractions, etc.
Wax, terracotta, and armatures will be provided upon request. Other materials and cameras will be provided by the students.
Bring a sun hat, bug spray, and lunch. For more details call Sally Ritter at 610-827-7277.

Come prepared to work hard and allow your ideas to reveal themselves through the act of making. All levels of accomplishment will feel comfortable. All media is welcome. Those who wish are invited to exhibit their work from this class in the CSS Gallery during July and August. Critiques and discussions will be ongoing.
Theresa Atkins, a naturalist/artist, and Pam will present unusual computer visuals of trees throughout the workshop.
There will be a show in the Lincoln Building during the month of June which will be of interest to those considering this class. It will focus on works approaching the tree from many perspectives with various materials. See page 4.
